Cable headband - Free pattern

 

Free pattern - Cable headband

 

Here is a slightly more advanced version of my last cable headband, this one is just a little more advanced and so takes a little longer to knit. It's easy, but not a quick knit.

 

Cable headband

 

-      Knitting needles size 4

-     1 ball of yarn for size 4 needles.

-     Cable needle

-     Wool needle

P – purl

K – knit

 

Pattern

- Cast on 23

 

For a neat edge, slip the first stitch of every new row knit wise.

 

Little band before cable pattern

 

Row 1 – P3 – (k1 – P1 – K1 – P1- repeat until 3 stitches left) P3

Row 2 – K3 – (P1 – K1 – P1 – K1 – repeat until 3 stitches left) K3

Row 3P3 – K1 – P1 – K6 – P1 – K6 – P1 – K1 – P3

 

Cable pattern

Row 4 – P3 – K1 – P1 – K2 – Place 2 stitches on cable needle and hold on the back of your knitting – K2 – K2 from cable needle – P1 – K2 – Place 2 stitches on cable needle and hold on the back of your knitting – K2 – K2 from cable needle – P1 – K1 – P3

Row 4 – P11 – K1 – P11

Row 6 – P3 – K1 – P1 – Place 2 stitches on cable needle and hold in the front of your knitting – K2 – K2 from cable needle – K2 – P1 – Place 2 stitches on cable needle and hold in the front of your knitting – K2 – K2 from cable needle – K2 – P1 – K1 – P3

Row 7 – P11 – K1 – P11

 

-Repeat cable pattern (rows 4–7) until desired length, finish off by repeating rows 3 - 2 - 1

-Bind off and sew together.
