Bristol board embroidery

    Here are some photos of  Bristol board embroideries from the late 1800's in my collection, I personally find them a little dull compare to other, more decorative types of needlework from the time period. But, they are a part of our stitching history, and were very popular at one time.

    I'd be surprised if anybody remembers these once universal mottoes 20 years from now.
